When running a LabVIEW program that uses the APx LabVIEW driver, error 1172 is generated. What is wrong?
Due to security settings in Windows Vista and above, when editing any LabVIEW VI that references APx500, you must run LabVIEW as an Administrator. See this note from National Instruments:

Similarly, when compiling your VI, you must modify a .manifest file for proper security settings. Follow the instructions found in this note from National Instruments:
